Alpha Iota Educational Foundation Scholarship
The Alpha Iota Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund was created when the Foundation was established, and with the generous contributions of Alpha Iota Alumni, it grew to over $400,000 in the first 30 years. The investment income from this fund is used to provide individual scholarships each year for academic excellence. In 2020 the Board transferred $300,000 to the Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity’s Alpha Iota Scholarship Fund to provide long term preservation and growth of its assets. In a formal agreement with the Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, the Scholarship Committee of AIEF reviews student applications and makes award recommendations for the Board’s approval. The AIEF issues the award letter and the checks are sent directly to the IU Bursars office for deposit into the students account. We also present these scholarship awards at the Chapter House during the spring semester. Since 2020, these scholarships are now named the Alpha Iota Scholarships.
There were 64 individual scholarships totaling $82,000 granted from 2005 through 2019 and here is a list of those Scholarship recipients:
